What's the Different Between Automobile Engine Aluminium Cylinder Block and Iron's?

Today let's talk about our vehicle, especially the family car. When we read the configuration instruction of car, we often see the details about cylinder block of the engine.

At present, the cylinder block of the gasoline engine is divided into cast iron and cast aluminium. In the diesel engine, the cast iron cylinder is the majority. In recent years, with the rapid development of automobile industry, cars have rapidly entered the life of ordinary people, and the fuel economy of vehicles has been gradually taken seriously. To reduce the weight of the engine, it can save oil.The weight of the engine can be reduced by casting aluminium cylinder block.
From the perspective of use, the strength of the cast aluminium cylinder is light-weight, which can save the fuel by reducing the weight. In an engine with the same displacement, the engine of the aluminium cylinder can reduce the weight of about 20kg. For every 10% reduction in the vehicle's weight, fuel consumption can be reduced by 6% to 8%. According to the latest information, the weight of foreign cars themselves has been reduced by 20% to 26% compared with the past. For example, FOX adopted an all-aluminium alloy to reduce the car's weight, which increases the engine's cooling effect, improves the efficiency of the engine, and also has a longer lifespan. From the point view of fuel saving, the advantage of casting aluminium engine is very popular.
Except for the weight difference, in the production process, casting iron and casting aluminium in cylinder body also have a lot of difference. The cast iron production line covers a large area, which has a large environmental pollution and complex processing technology. The production characteristics of the cast aluminium cylinder are the opposite. From the perspective of market competition, the cast aluminium cylinder has certain advantages. Due to the advantages of the cast aluminium cylinder, the main engine of the cast aluminium cylinder was developed by the poor natural resources of Japan. But the majority of the engines Toyota makes in China are cast iron cylinder engines, partly because China's raw materials are not as scarce as Japan's.
The physical properties of iron and aluminium differ. Cast iron has stronger thermal load capacity and more power in engine power. For example, a 1.3-liter cast iron engine can output more than 70kW, while a cast aluminium engine can only output 60kW. It is understood that 1.5-liter cast-iron engine can achieve the power requirement of the 2.0-litre engine by turbocharging while casting aluminium cylinder block engine can hardly meet this requirement.
The manufacturers who are good at selling often use the "dazzling" aura of "all-aluminium engines" when promoting their car. In view of this, we have seen that whomever the Audi A8, Fox and Swifts lock the highlights of their engines into the material of the whole aluminium cylinder. It is undeniable that the whole aluminium engine is superior to the cast iron engine in the material, heat dissipation and so on.
It is important to note that the all-aluminium engine, which is often stated in the enterprise, refers to the engine of aluminium alloy for the cylinder head and cylinder block. The cylinder head is the aluminium alloy and the cylinder body is cast iron, which is still referred to as the cast iron engine. But in fact, many years ago, the engine of the car factories had already used the entire aluminium cylinder. Since the head of the cylinder itself is not heavy, the carmakers are keen not because it is light, but because it has good heat dissipation. With the rapid development of engine technology, the four-valve structure has become the main design trend of the engine.Compared with the two valves, the cylinder cover of each cylinder is more heat than the cylinder head of the two valves, so the all-aluminium cylinder head is the best solution.
For cost consideration, the cylinder body designed as full aluminium was much later than cylinder cover. The cylinder body is the heaviest part of the engine so the use of aluminium alloy material can reduce the weight of the engine, thus achieving the purpose of reducing the weight of the vehicle. This is especially valuable for front-facing cars. Little imagine, however, the change in the material needs more cost spending, because of the different material price and processing technology, using aluminium alloy cylinder body of the engine will naturally is one higher than the price of cast iron engine. At this point of appeal, it is obvious that the engine of the cast iron cylinder is dominant.

4 Advantages of T-slotted Aluminium Extrusion Frame

Whether you are assembling a large production line, installing automation equipment, or setting up a workbench for a production line, you may need a metal framework to install robotic parts, dispensers, or other automated assembly equipment. Many factory owners choose traditional welded steel structures to enhance their strength and durability. However, aluminum extrusion frames are becoming increasingly popular for several reasons. Hoonly Aluminium Extrusion Framework is a modular solution that consists of  Aluminium extrusion profiles  with a unique T-slot design, and series of  specialized connectors & fasteners , which allows designer or purchaser to adjust the structure frame according to their own needs. Because the framework is aluminum, it often has a higher price tag than steel (actually less than stainless steel). But don't you found that aluminum extrusion frames offer distinct advantages over other material frames (such as wood, stainless steel) systems? 1,

Application of High Strength Aluminum in Automotive Industry

The huge growing world car ownership is great influencing people's work and life, but resulting a series of problems such as energy shortage, environmental pollution is also increasingly prominent. Light-weight, energy saving, environmental protection, safety, comfort and low cost become the target of each car manufacturer, especially in energy saving and environmental protection, which is the major problem for the sustainable development of the human relationship, energy conservation, and emissions reduction has become an urgent problem in the automotive industry. Light-weight of the automobile,  which means on the premise of guarantee vehicle performance is not affected, auto-manufacturers should be targeted to reduce automobile weight, to ensure the safety and comfort, and meanwhile should not improve the cost. From the life cycle of the automobile products, a fuel consumption cost is the main part of the vehicle life cycle cost, which occupies 71% of the cycle costs. A

Overview of Chemical Polishing Aluminium, Electra-chemical Polishing Aluminium and Mechanical Polishing

The general engineering application of wrought aluminium alloy material or building aluminium profile is the process of the semi-finished product. Aluminium extrusion profile manufacturers are generally able to directly put the profiles into anodize production line for anodizing. The obtained anodized film has the good protective properties in many engineering applications, which basically achieves uniform appearance requirements. However, if mechanically polished aluminium work-piece is directly anodized, only the smooth anodize oxide film could be obtained, but fails to get the coating film of high reflective. Chemical polishing and electro-chemical polishing can give aluminium profile a very shiny surface, but in terms of polishing, chemical polishing (or electro-chemical polishing) are fundamentally different from mechanical polishing: Chemical polishing and electrochemical polishing, as an advanced finishing method, can remove slight mold marks and scratches on the surface
